Easter this year falls somewhat later in the year, and with this in mind the lovely team at The Great Wine Co. have curated a selection of sparkling wines which will be perfect to sip on sunny spring days as well as pairing perfectly with seasonal Easter dishes.
Easter celebrations aren't complete without something sparkling; it could be Champagne, such as their excellent 1er Cru Gobillard, or a lighter style sparkling wine such as Cava or Crémant. And with case savings of up to 25%, there is no reason not to celebrate.
Cheers!
The Gobillard Grande Reserve (£27.50) is a very enjoyable, rounded Champagne, with aromas and flavours of baked Bramley apples. Lively and fun, its acidity is well-balanced and integrated, so it has freshness without sharpness. Grab it on offer at The Great Wine Co. with £15 off today.
Hattingly Valley's Classic Reserve (£27.50) layers mellow sophistication upon the inherently vibrant fruit conferred by England's growing conditions. The the aromas and flavours evoke bright lemon, hedgerow blossom and baked apple, with toasted brioche and slivered almonds.
Tresor Rosé (£14.40) is a fun yet seriously classy Cava, with intense, complex aromas of redcurrant, wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry. Long, fruity, soft and elegant on the palate. Pere Ventura Family Estates was formed with a view to producing the finest estate Cavas in the heartland of this DO, Sant Sadurni d’Anoia.

Bath Drama present Uncle Vanya 30 April - 3 May
In this adaptation of Chekhov’s play by Conor McPherson, Sonya and her Uncle Vanya have managed a Russian estate for many years on behalf of Sonya’s father. His arrival with his alluring young wife Yelena, full of plans for the estate now he has retired from his professorial job in Moscow, is the catalyst for change and upset. Dr Astrov, the local doctor and a regular visitor, is a committed environmentalist and he, too, is disturbed by the visitors. This is Chekhov’s great play of quiet desperation, unrequited love and frustrated lives, but also of the importance of belonging...
The accomplished cast are directed by Andy Cork whose productions of ‘Touched’ and ‘Skylight’, also for Bath Drama, were so successful.
Rondo Theatre, St. Saviours Rd, BA1 6RT | 7.30pm

This is simply a stunning space; light modern and a place to enjoy. It boasts a well-appointed kitchen, bi-fold doors onto the deck, access to the utility and shower room and period features dotted throughout.
