Home for the Summer?

Went to h+h Americas in Rosemont, Illinois

This weekend I will be reaching out to all my new BFFs that I found at h+h. Thanks to Craft Industry Alliance for a subsidized Meet and Greet dinner on Thursday. I spent the evening with eight other fabulous makers. Wonderful stories, laughs, and general letting down from our years of lockdown. We turned Bingo on its head.

Here is a teaser: Scented Stitches. This is a balm using aromatherapy that infuses a light scent into your knitting as you knit! I was not a fan of the concept until I sniffed the swatches. If you have scent sensitivities, it might not be for you, but I am currently using Cheer on a sample sweater to infuse it with a "high-vibe-rosy effect, with lemongrass for a bit of juicy freshness to radiate optimism." Think of it as self-care that you pass on. Other scents are Power, Calm, and Confidence. *Rub a small amount on your yarn finger and knit. Repeat from * as needed.

I subbed in for Kim McBrien Evans teaching Inclusive Sizing Matters at h+h Americas (this is a wholesale trade show); no idea what she planned to present, but I had an hour and 15 minutes of things to say about Inclusion and Sizing!

If you have a body you should join this conversation! I want to change the way we size things in the knitting world, and I'm hoping to extend that to other parts of the maker community. You don't have to be a professional, but if you are, you should be part of this too!
