Apply for the Jefferson Science Fellowship!

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is accepting applications for the 2020 Jefferson Science Fellowship. The program is open to tenured, or similarly ranked, academic scientists, engineers and physicians from U.S. institutions of higher learning.

Amirpouyan Nejadhashemi has been named a MSU Foundation Professor

Amirpouyan (A. Pouyan) Nejadhashemi is a professor in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering and the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences. A leading expert in water resources modeling.

Evolution of learning is key to better artificial intelligence

Researchers at Michigan State University published The American Naturalist which explores how computers could begin to evolve learning in the same way as natural organisms did.

Nanzer selected for DARPA director’s fellowship

Jeffrey Nanzer, the Dennis P. Nyquist assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded a director’s fellowship from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Studying the impacts of autonomous vehicles on the workforce

A multidisciplinary research team from Michigan State University will use a $2.49 million grant from the National Science Foundation to conduct a four-year study examining the impacts of autonomous vehicles on the future workforce.
