👋
Hello Mori people,
Welcome to a new episode of your favourite lab’s monthly newsletter.
Last month was by far our busiest one. We managed to smash our goal for the darkroom crowdfunding. This was quite a surprise, as at one point we weren’t even sure we’d hit the 100%. So after a nice celebration diner with Cole and François we got to work to fulfil all of the rewards we could.
Although the Darkroom is currently taking a lot of our time we managed to release a couple of new projects we had been working on. For all of you in the centre of Brussels, we launched a new Dropbox with our friends at Bison 4! It's available everyday and emptied twice a week!
We also hosted our first photowalk! We were super excited about this and are very happy about how it turned out. It was forecast to rain all day but we managed to stay dry until the last ten minutes. Luckily our friends at @tuckshopbxl had some nice coffee and food ready inside to help us dry off. We’ll definitely organise more walks in the future!
A lot of people will be leaving on holiday this month. For this reason we have tried hard to fully stock up on film. We even have a decent stock of the elusive Portra 400 both in 35mm and 120. We are also hoping to take a little bit of time off somewhere in August. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
July also marks the end of the Brussels Analog Gang exhibition. If you still haven’t seen it it will be up until the 15th. After this we will launch a special new exhibition all in black and white dedicated to our Darkroom backers.
This DARKROOM exhibition will start on the 20th of July and be mostly composed of prints made by François in our Darkroom!
For the rest we will spend some good amount of time working in the darkroom to make sure it’ll be operational for September.
Enjoy the holidays,
Raph & Cole
