"Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish." - Brad Henry

, I hope you've had a good week especially now that the days are getting lighter and those January bills have finally been paid - isn't it weird how every year we know that January is going to be tough whether financially or emotionally (the dark days) but when it's over, we feel like we're really ready for the new year to begin? I'll hep you change that later this year so next January is so much fun!

I want to talk about trust today. Not trust in others but trust in yourself. Belief in yourself to achieve your dreams. Dependant on where you currently are in your journey this might sound a bit far fetched but I want to give you three real examples of believing in yourself to show it actually does work.

In my first session with a client, I always introduce the Gratitude Journal. This is a brand new notebook (usually given by me) that you use to write three things you're grateful for in the morning, when you wake, before you do anything. This is repeated last thing at night. This simple exercise lets you gain perspective in our otherwise busy, distracted, stressful days. It helps you see the good in your life even when things aren't feeling so great. Spoiler alert: the brain loves negative thinking and will magnify it ten-fold if you let it. Allowing yourself a few minutes to consider a different dialogue by way of being thankful, lets those stressors be more manageable. Try it for a week and let me know how you feel...

Real-life examples:

  1. One of my clients is working on love and has some pessimistic views. I challenge that constantly and he's starting to see the benefits of the challenge. By using more optimistic thinking and actions, he's cancelled his session with me next week in favour of a date! I'm ecstatic!!! He's not spiritual, he does do the gratitude journal and when he thinks optimistically, life starts looking the way he wants it too.
  2. I've been running these newsletters for almost a year now and have had lots of great feedback about them - I love this. It takes a lot of time and will to do these sometimes thinking no-one actually reads them but then, I received an email this week from a member who wants to join my retreat in March. Whether she has been inspired by my content or whether she has the determination of a lion, she is coming on the retreat. She believes in herself so much, that she's made it work and this is key to achieving your dreams.
  3. Lastly, me. This month, I've been hitting a common block that business owners face. Every now and then, running a business gets hard, so hard in fact, that you feel like it's not going to work and you think you should just quit. But I didn't. This block comes up often but I push through. The main reason because I know for a fact that what I'm doing is what I should be doing and I know that it works. I just need to keep pushing and soon enough, my message and plight will be heard. That's my spirit that won't quit!

If you're not ready for a gratitude journal, there's more simple things you can do that will allow for reflection. Check out this week's blog post 8 WAYS BEING PHYSICAL WILL TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE - you can achieve a state of mindfulness through any movement.
