penangpac reopens after lockdown with a socially-distanced live show. 6 comedies, 60 minutes, 2 actors,

THE NEW ADVENTURES IN SOUND ART, Online, Saturday 4th July 2pm

Artist-designer-researcher Kamal Sabran explores Malay classic pop songs, together with Russian visual artist Arina Kokoreva, Malaysian model Tuti Noor, musicians from the US, Malaysia and Russia, and choreographers from Italy and Malaysia. The performance will be live-streamed on George Town Festival’s Facebook page here.

MAMPU ART MARKET, Hin Bus Depot, Until 5th July

An exhibit put together by a group of creatives to support each other financially during this pandemic crisis. Featuring works by artists like Bibichun, Sattama, IMMJN, Cara, Sydney Lee, Trexus and a few others.

How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected the dance industry and international collaborations between dance practitioners, and what is the future of dance companies in light of canceled tourings and potentially restrictive travel for the foreseeable future? Laurence Olivier Award recipient choreographer Eastman – Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, critically acclaimed dancer/choreographer Shaun Parker of Shaun Parker & Company and the “father” of Malaysia’s dance scene Joseph Victor Gonzales of ASK Dance Company come together to answer these questions and more..
