To paraphrase Shakespeare:
“A title by any other title, might sell better.”

Someone just pointed out that we’re half way to Christmas. Gulp. So, I need your help deciding on the wording of the title for my new novella, which will be part of a Jan 2021 anthology (and will introduce my All That Glitters series).

This is your Q&A this week, too, so please chime in. Which of these two titles do you like better?

  1. HER VALENTINE COWBOY
  2. HER COWBOY VALENTINE

Easy-peasy, right?

You have no idea how many times I’ve gone back and forth on the answer.

Graduation is a momentous occasion, whether you’re making the transition from preschool to kindergarten, elementary school to high school, high school to college or college to career. This year, for most graduates, the recognition of these life events will be missing the usual hoopla, large celebrations, and walk to the sound of the Pomp and Circumstance March.

I can’t do anything about that, but I can share some pics of several graduates who are very dear to me.

Preschool: Poppy Salonen (granddaughter) – her teachers say she’s more than ready for kindergarten and can’t wait to learn! Onward and upward, Poppy!

8th grade: Rya Salonen (granddaughter) – a highly focused, self-motivated student, Rya has been using the distance learning time to study French and piano, in addition to her regular studies. She is going to do GREAT in High School.

High School: Madelaine Knutson (great-niece) – Honor Student, Valdictorian with a slew of academic honors and awards, ABS Secretary, and exceptional human being, Maddy is enrolled at UC Santa Barbara. I love this girl so much and am so proud of her. Change the world for the better, Maddie! You’ve got this.

High School: Mckenzie Lettice (daughter of a dear friend) – letter athlete (volleyball), a beautiful person inside and out, she’s headed to the University of Tampa this fall. Wishing you every success, Mckenzie. I know you’ll make the most of this!

I’m sure you all know someone who has missed out on a special moment because of this unique time. I’d be happy include their names in next week’s newsletter, if you’d like to share.

UPDATE

(Prize includes a tool pouch like the ones worn by the McCall sisters in the series, various hand tools including a hammer, tape measurer, adaptable screw driver, utility knife, gloves, carpenter’s pencil, marking pen and MORE. Additionally, there will be a $25 Gift Card TBD [I originally thought Lowes or Home Depot, but I will let the winner choose—Amazon is also an option.] Winning name will be announced in my newsletter. If winner fails to contact me within a week from announcement [Thursday-Thursday], an alternate name will be drawn until we have a winner.)

Alas, last week’s winner did not contact me. BUT, I just heard from a regular Q&A responder that she hasn’t received my newsletter for the past two weeks, so we’re checking to see what is happening with my server and will give Lady Magnolia one more chance to contact me.

Last week’s Q&A was: Are you doing something special for Memorial Day? Y or N?

My two randomly selected winners this week are:

Susan Izquierdo – No
and
Liz Jackson – Yes

(Susan and Liz congrats. Please email me your pick of either a $5 Starbucks or a $5 Amazon gift card.)

Q&A

This week’s Q&A: (see above) Please pick between:

HER VALENTINE COWBOY or HER COWBOY VALENTINE

(Two winners will be chosen by random drawing to receive either a $5 Starbucks gift card or a $5 Amazon gift card. Please reply the usual ways: email or on my DebraSalonenAuthor Facebook page.)

Stay well, my friends!

Happy reading,

Deb

Next week: the heat is on, the pool is up, and practice camping with the RV.
