Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
Saturday, November 30, 2024, marks Small Business Saturday – a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting small businesses and the vital role they play in our communities. As we reflect on the challenges faced by small businesses, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s clear that they need our support now more than ever.
Founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by the Small Business Association (SBA) since 2011, Small Business Saturday has become a cornerstone of the holiday shopping season. In 2022, U.S. consumers spent an estimated $17 billion on Small Business Saturday, underscoring the powerful impact of this day for local economies.
At USET, the Office of Economic Development is committed to supporting the growth and success of our member Tribal Nations and their local small businesses. We encourage you to shop small and show your support for the entrepreneurs in our communities. For more information on how you can participate, please visit the website.
To further amplify our impact, we invite you to explore our updated USET Tribal Enterprise Directory to discover Tribal Nation-owned businesses and explore potential collaboration opportunities. You can access the USET Tribal Enterprise Directory on the USET website.
Finally, are you a USET member Tribal citizen with a small business? We would love to hear from you and highlight your business! Please take a moment to complete or share the spotlight questionnaire!
Our collective support for small businesses is more than just an act of commerce – it’s a commitment to building a future where all our communities can thrive. This Small Business Saturday let’s remember that in unity, we find our greatest strength. Together, we can make meaningful change and ensure that our voices, businesses, and cultures continue to flourish.
For any questions or more information on entrepreneurship support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to USET’s Office of Economic Development at RNaragon@usetinc.org.
