And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.".
God's word to us this month is to remind us that He is the Almighty God. Some descriptions of “Almighty” are:
- having complete power; omnipotent,
- having unlimited power or having very great power, influence that is unrivalled.
In the bible verse above, after some good years of Abram walking with God, God said to him; “I am Almighty”, a reminder of His great unrivalled power and influence, also a call to action;” serve me faithfully” which results in living a “blameless life”
I believe that’s the same message the Lord has given us this month!
In answer to Jeremiah’s Prayer, God said “I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27 (NLT). It’s a reminder for us that there is absolutely nothing too difficult for God to do.
It’s also an advice to serve Him faithfully in order to experience that unrivalled power in every aspects of our lives and ministry. It doesn’t matter how long you have been a member of a Church family, even a worker in the Church serving God in various capacity (choir member, teacher, usher, evangelism, prayer, children department etc). God is saying to you this season, “serve me faithfully”, in other words, “to serve God in a constant, loyal, resolute and steadfast manner. It means serving with a "firm adherence to God, implying an unwavering adherence to God and His word.
As we purpose afresh to hold on to God and His word in the face of differing challenges, we will surely experience His unrivalled power in every aspect of our lives and ministry. This is what God has called us to do this season. And as we do just that, He will showcase His Glory and Power in us and through us!
