Sky Team airlines offer special discount to WCIT2019 participants

Sky Team, an alliance of 19 leading airlines, which operate more than 14,500 flights a day, covering more than 1,350 destinations across 179 countries, has partnered with WCIT 2019, setting up exclusive discounts for thousands of visitors coming to Armenia for the October event. A special page for WCIT 2019 has been launched on Sky Team Airline Alliance official website and is open now for online reservations from anywhere in the world to Yerevan for the Congress.

AI; blockchain; “green” technologies: WCIT 2019 will explore most up-to-date topics

"More than 2,500 participants from 70 countries are expected to attend WCIT 2019. The agenda will include discussion of the hottest topics in the industry. ICT industry leaders and innovators, government and global policy leaders, startups, and investors will exchange ideas in sessions such as “Black Swan,” “Innovation Meets Capital,” “Artificial Intelligence in Genomics,” “How ‘Green’ is Silicon,” “Rise of the Machines,” and many others. WCIT 2019’s program will also feature a panel of ICT ministers from nations across the globe, and another one featuring the mayors of “smart” cities from around the world.

Armenia can become regional technological hub – WITSA Chairman

At a meeting with Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan, Chairman of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) Yvonne Chiu said that she is impressed by the technological potential of Armenia and expressed an opinion that Armenia can become a regional technological hub. Tigran Avinyan presented the investment and business environment of Armenia, emphasizing that WCIT-2019 is an excellent opportunity for the businessmen of the 82 member states to better examine Armenia, discover its investment potentials, as well as establish cooperation with Armenian companies.

Armenia-hosted WCIT 2019 is expected to host over 2000 delegates

"You can name all leading IT companies that you know, and they are among them. Some are approaching us. Automotive sector for example, they are discussing presence at the exhibition, even sponsorship. We will have top leaders of national giant companies from France, UK, Taiwan. We have huge representation from Taiwan, U.S.,” Mr. Alexandr Yesayan, the president of Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) and WCIT 2019, said. Also Germany will participate in the World Congress on Information Technology in Armenia.

Alexis Ohanian to moderate panel at WCIT 2019 in Yerevan

Five keynote speakers of WCIT 2019 Yerevan named

Acer founder Stan Shih, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, Garmin Corporation co-founder and CEO Min Kao, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang and VaynerX Chairman Gary Vaynerchuk are named among the five confirmed keynote speakers, told Alexander Yesayan, president of UATE. Organizers negotiate with Obama for potential WCIT 2019 appearance in Yerevan

The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, the organizer of the upcoming World Congress of Information Technologies (WCIT 2019) in Yerevan, is negotiating already for 4 months with former US President Barack Obama’s Office around a potential participation in the event. “At this moment we can’t say anything more, however I will say that surprises are expected,” Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises President Alexander Yesayan said.

Microsoft corporate vice president one of speakers at WCIT 2019

“We’re proud to feature Vahé Torossian as one of the #WCIT2019 keynote speakers. Having more than 25 years of experience in his background and running multiple lines of business for Microsoft in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, Vahé currently holds the position of Corporate Vice President at Microsoft,” says the statement on WCIT’s Facebook.

Anke den Ouden, Microsoft’s Regional General Manager of 24 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, will be one of the keynote speakers at the The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Yerevan. Featuring the most profound leaders of the industry, the largest congress on IT will explore the ways  technology transforms our lives.

Senior Vice President of Siemens to attend WCIT 2019

Jenny Bofinger-Schuster, Senior Vice President for Sustainability and Cities at Siemens, will take part in the 23rd World Congress on Information Technology. “With more than 12 years’ experience in management consultancy within and outside of Siemens, Jenny Bofinger-Schuster developed trendsetting strategies in areas ranging from mobility to healthcare, around the globe. Less than 10 days to register your startup to compete at WCIT 2019 Lightning Rounds

WCIT will host Lightning Rounds for the first time ever. Over 3 days, 15 companies and/or technologies will be showcased at the plenary session attended by 2,000 information and communications technology (ICT) leaders-CEOs and investors, policy makers and government officials, academics and technologists. Each presenter will have 3 minutes. WCIT2019 will award the winners by “Armenian Tech Community Prize”, in total amount of $105,000.

Leading Italian RaiNews news outlet referred to the development of the IT sector in Armenia in an article headlined “Caucasian Silicon Valley”.
