I’m a big fan of the Fallout series of games, and in December, I wrote about the new Fallout TV series coming to Amazon. Reading all the details about it got me back into that world, so last month, we broke down and purchased Fallout 76.
The game had a terrible launch back in 2018. As Bethesda Game Studios' first attempt at a multi-player game, they took a lot of heat for it being buggy and uninteresting, with the complete absence of any non-playable characters (NPC’s).
To their credit, the company knuckled down and continued developing it, and with the newest patch, which came out late last year, they’ve finally addressed these problems. I’ve now sunk quite a few hours into playing Fallout 76, and I would say it’s now just as good, if not better, than Fallout 4.
So, if you’re looking for a game to get you in the mood for the new TV show, this is it. (Actually, any of the Fallout games would likely serve to pique your interest if you’re new to the franchise.)
And yes, it plays much faster on my new computer!
