The TIMSS 2023 International Report is now available open-access via the IEA website. The international press release is also available here. 

Some key findings showed that:

• Short-term trend results show greater differences in achievement between boys and girls in TIMSS 2023 compared to TIMSS 2019, particularly in fourth-grade mathematics.
• Fourth- and eighth-grade students possessing more positive attitudes toward mathematics and science experience higher achievement in those subjects.
• There is a clear-cut relationship between home resources, and mathematics and science achievement for fourth- and eighth-grade students internationally.

We are thrilled to also announce the release of two new IEA Teacher Snippets using TIMSS 2023 data.

Aimed at teachers, the Snippets highlight findings from IEA’s TIMSS 2023 and look at how much fourth- and eighth-grade students internationally like learning mathematics, and how this relates to their achievement on the TIMSS mathematics assessment. 

The Snippets are now available on the IEA website.
