Hello Friends!

Happy Friday- and, "Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life!"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and cool things to check out!

This week I have been in the throes of working Social Media Week NYC (hard to believe I have been doing work with them for the past 3 years)! They have been pretty long days- but, super interesting and well worth it! Lots of fascinating people talking about various topics within the realm of the digital marketing and beyond. Some of my favorite highlights were from the keynote speakers--Seth Godin, and Radha Argawal (both super inspiring)...and, a very entertaining fireside chat with Andy King of the Fyre Festival debacle (he is quite a character!).

Another highlight from the week was attending an intimate event with the fabulous Priya Parker, author of the book "The Art of Gathering." As a passionate community builder and event planner, this was particularly special for me.

And, last night, I also had the chance to attend a fabulous gala for the 2019 Cable Hall of Fame, where I was able to meet, and hear inspirational stories from top cable veterans who were being inducted. The highlight of that was having the founders of MTV all on stage sharing their journey---definitely a trip down memory lane with that one!

It has definitely been an active week!

*I have shared a few pictures here, but will also be posting more on my Instagram @thecre8tiveartisan

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Zetetic-proceeding by inquiry or investigation

  • ADVICE:  "May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears." ~Nelson Mandela

  • MOOD MUSIC: One of my favorite "new jazz" artists is Robert Glasper. I pretty much love anything he does because he has a special way of taking you far away in a musical trance. He has this magical way of fusing different genres of music into a funky style of jazz (I mean, seriously, the guy has a jazz cover of Nirvana's "Teen Spirit"). He also  brings out unique things in other artists as well. This week, I have been digging "Find You."

  • SMILE OF THE WEEK: To know me, is to also know that I am sentimental sap. I absolutely LOVE  THIS STORY of how an an accidental phone call forms a serendipitously beautiful friendship.

  • BOOK I'M READING: (Or, actually listening to- because I get too distracted with people watching on the train)---Brene Brown's "Daring Greatly"

  • RANDOM LIFE TIP: If you're a bit of a tab hoarder like me, you may find Google One Tab to be helpful. You can save up to 95% memory and reduce tab clutter. And, when you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.

  • FOOD TO TRY: At one of the events I attended this week, they had Tabbouleh Salad as a side. I stepped outside of my comfort zone, and made myself try it; and, to my surprise, it was quite tasty! I can't vouch for any recipes; but, if you happen to try it, let me know if you like it!

This week I wanted to share a simple, yet profound, graphic that I keep around as an important life reminder. Often times in life we can get so caught up in our day-to-day routines, and forget to go back to the root of the basics. I hope that this will serve as helpful little touch point tool for you in various areas of your life as well!

This week I challenge you to take pause, and make an intentional aim in doing one of the above things (especially, if you find yourself caught up in a mindless hamster wheel of routine). You may be surprised with what happens!

I am in the process of creating some "non-traditional" events where people can connect on a deeper level in person. And, I am still in need of a bit more feedback in my survey. If you have not done so already, please take a quick 5 minutes to fill out:

Thanks sooooooo much in advance for your time!

***Totally disregard this part of the newsletter if you have already done this.

Lastly, if you happen to have any future topic ideas, or come across any events I should know about, PLEASE feel free to send those along my way. I always LOVE discovering and learning about new things!

Have a great day, and be sure to take time to enjoy your life!

*"The Cre8tive Life" is the weekly "feel good" component of my consultancy, The Cre8tive Artisan, which is where I "make the magic happen" and curate engaging lifestyle events that help connect us humans in deeper ways. Feel free to CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE to see what I do, and let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help you out! As always, if this newsletter is "not your thing", please feel free to unsubscribe (however, I really hope you don't).
