She brought that knowledge and her passion for family-centered care services to her faculty position at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics—for over a decade preparing pediatricians to work with children with special health care needs. Her daughter’s death brought great loss, suffering, and new beginnings. She studied energy medicine, sound healing, mindfulness, and somatic therapies to heal.
Paula now finds purpose and meaning in helping others pave their path forward to their own bright beginnings. Her recently published memoir, A Mother’s Courage to Awaken, describes her death and rebirth process as she reclaimed her voice and inner strength.

Presenter: Leigh Kapps, PhD
Leigh Kapps, PhD, BCAB-D, was for 41 years the COO of United Community Options of South Florida (Former United Cerebral Palsy). She began her spiritual quest early in life at the age of 9 when her father died. She sought answers to life’s meaningful questions regarding where her father went and the meaning of life. She found her teacher at the age of 22 and spent 14 years studying with her, fully embracing Ascended Master teachings. Once trained to read the Akashic Records, she began doing readings remotely for people around the world. As this developed, she was able to intuit an intimate connection with her client’s guides. She began doing weekend workshops based on these readings, establishing the guide’s connection and past history. She teamed up with an artist to create guide renderings, presented at the workshop during a sacred ceremony. Leigh combines her Akashic Record training with her background in music, healing, hypnotherapy, and ancestral clearing to provide a complete service to her clients.
