First Ever "La Roche Gives" Day of Giving in June

"La Roche Gives" is a 24-hour online fundraising event where alumni, faculty, staff, family, and friends come together to celebrate being a part of the La Roche community. It is about standing in solidarity, united together for our students and for the future of La Roche University. Leading up to and during these 24-hours, your gift to La Roche will go further than ever before! If we meet our goal of 2,020 gifts before midnight on June 15, 2020, we will receive an extra $20,000 from our generous sponsors, which will make a huge difference in the lives of our students.  Learn more

La Roche Community Heroes On The Front Lines

If you are involved in health care on the front lines; in scientific research relevant to treatments, epidemiology, or vaccines; in the public health community or in government service; or in any other aspect of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, would you take a moment to share your experiences with us briefly, so that we might share them with the wider La Roche community. If you have a moment and are comfortable giving your insights, we would be very grateful.

Send an email to gina.miller@laroche.edu with the following information if possible:

  • Your name, La Roche degree, graduation year(s), and field of study
  • Your profession or volunteer work as it relates to the current pandemic
  • Your experiences addressing the pandemic
  • Your thoughts on how the pandemic has affected your community, professional environment, and you personally.
Emergency Financial Aid Grants for LRU Students

La Roche University is slated to receive approximately $1.2 million from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. Of that $1.2 million, half of the money will be earmarked for emergency financial aid grants for La Roche students affected during the pandemic. These federal dollars will supplement La Roche’s ongoing efforts to provide financial relief for students in need of assistance. Your Gifts Already Helped More than 80 Students

With your donations of over $28,000 for the Sister Candace Introcaso Student Emergency Fund and the Providence Food Pantry, the University already has helped more than 80 students. Those students who needed to remain on campus are being provided with safe housing and meals, while others are receiving assistance from the food pantry or with small grants from the emergency fund for items such as medical or dental costs, transportation, housing assistance, and course materials and technology for on-line learning.

Know that your act of kindness is most appreciated. Thank you, once again, for your generosity and thoughtfulness and for giving our students the hope and security they so desperately needed. May our Provident God continue to bless you and your loved ones with continued good health.

Congratulations to the 2020 Honors Candidates!

Commencement Postponed Until Fall

We have tentatively scheduled commencement as a weekend celebration, Friday, Oct. 2 to Sunday, Oct. 4. The success of these dates will be entirely contingent upon our ability to provide commencement in a safe and appropriate manner. Should this not be the case, we will postpone the ceremony to a time when we can be confident of a safe gathering. Degrees will be awarded at the normal time, and final transcripts will reflect the students’ degrees and their conferral date.  More info
