Thank you for reaching out to the Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development (GO-Biz) and the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA). We are working diligently to ensure businesses across California have the most up-to-date information and resources during Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
On November 30, Governor Newsom and the Legislature announced that the State would build on its ongoing support for businesses impacted by COVID-19 by providing a new package of assistance for small businesses, including tax relief (here), a recovery loan program (here), and $500 million in grants for small businesses impacted by COVID and health and safety restrictions. Read the press announcement here.
The California's Office of the Small Business Advocate is working quickly to establish the $500 million grant program including finalizing all application and process details for grants to eligible small businesses and non-profits up to $25,000. You will receive information once the program is established.
As we work quickly to get the program up and running, we recommend that you reach out to a small business center near you for additional immediate assistance. California supports a network of federally contracted small business centers which provide free consulting and training to help businesses figure out which loans are a fit for them, develop resiliency strategies, and find other resources.
