Kai Cenat is the latest creator to host a livestream for 30 days straight on Twitch, known as a subathon. The tactic is used by streamers to generate publicity and gain more paid subscribers. Cenat’s subathon has pushed him to nearly 190,000 paid Twitch subscribers as of Monday, according to data provider TwitchTracker. Cenat has faced controversies recently, including taking edibles and passing out during a livestream, which resulted in a temporary ban from Twitch last month.

Tej Patel is a content creator who began his career after dropping out of college to build a business photographing concerts, singers, and rappers. 

His journey began in 2019 when he downloaded TikTok. He then went viral for the first time in April 2021 after remixing a popular song and Kim Kardashian used it in her video debut on the platform.

Thanks to consistent content posting, Patel now boasts 58,400 followers on TikTok and over 8,500 followers on Instagram. 2022 marked Patel’s first year where he earned over $100,000.

Honestly, this weekend was tough for me. I experienced a type of break down of emotions regarding my career, my online footprint and everything to do with content. For context, I am a music artist who started this journey 18 months ago all by myself. I have built a fantastic and reliable team and, considering the short window, my music has done fairly well (almost 2 million streams overall). Nevertheless, I just don’t feel like my online presence is as strong as I’d like it to be.

Slapping a celebrity or influencer name on a product just isn’t enough anymore to convince people to buy it. Recently, Selfless by Hyram, the skincare brand founded by influencer Hyram Yarbro in partnership with The Inkey List, and Item Beauty, a makeup brand launched by TikToker Addison Rae, will no longer be sold at Sephora. While Item Beauty still appears on Sephora’s e-commerce website at discounted prices, Selfless by Hyram can no longer be purchased online via the LVMH-owned specialist beauty retailer.
