Happy for No Reason?
Around 2010, Rev. Fa Jun read a pop-psychology book claiming that we can (and obviously should) be “happy for no reason”. As someone who has struggled on and off with mental health challenges, he naturally questioned this assertion. And today's talk comes from about twelve years of exploration and contemplation. Come explore science, anecdote, and tradition related to the idea that we can or should be happy for no reason at all. In the process, we will learn methods that have been proven to expand our capacity for joy and gratitude, with reason or without.
