This morning, your fellow congregants will present their personal perspectives on being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. What was it like to be denied basic civil rights because of sexual orientation or gender identity? How has it changed? How do young people feel about the acceptance or lack of support that they experience? Join young and elder members of the Q-munity to usher in Pride Month with some real talk.
* We practice updated safety protocols detailed in our Gathering Guidelines. Masks are optional. Contact our service associate to plan UUFLG special announcements, etc.
To share joys and concerns, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief message anytime during the week and before the service begins. Of course, you may also share in person.
Children & Youth Religious Exploration (CYRE) – We provide supervised activities for children from 10:45 to 12:15. Youth are welcome to participate in a variety of roles around the Fellowship.
We are grateful for our volunteers who make Sunday Service a special time! Our invaluable volunteers this Sunday include greeter Karen & Joe Fitch, service lay leaders Cindy Giesing & Linda Osborne, service associate Katie Rall, sound technician MJ Fitch, and social-hour snack providers Suzanne Bennett Francisco & Robb Stolberg. Please thank them and any other generous volunteers when you see them!
Board-game enthusiasts from both the Sunnyvale and Los Gatos UU fellowships meet the first Saturday of the month, alternating locations. This month, Game Night takes place at UUFS (1112 S. Bernardo Avenue, Sunnyvale). There will be a variety of teen and adult table games on hand–or bring along one of your own–plus, a staff-supervised table with games for younger children. Parents can play games knowing that their kids are happily occupied. Since this is not a drop-off event, parents must be present. Feel free to share in potluck snacks while you play.

Happy for No Reason?
Around 2010, Rev. Fa Jun read a pop-psychology book claiming that we can (and obviously should) be “happy for no reason”. As someone who has struggled on and off with mental health challenges, he naturally questioned this assertion. And today's talk comes from about twelve years of exploration and contemplation. Come explore science, anecdote, and tradition related to the idea that we can or should be happy for no reason at all. In the process, we will learn methods that have been proven to expand our capacity for joy and gratitude, with reason or without.
