Oct 16, 2020 - Kaieteur News – Ramon Gaskin said that the suspicious awards of the Canje and Kaieteur oil blocks leading up to the 2015 general and regional elections, must face the scrutiny of independent forensic experts in an official investigation. He said that an expert team would allow Guyana to identify all those who are guilty of corrupt practices so that they may be prosecuted.            Continue reading →

GUYANA: GuySuCo floods Success lands to ‘flush-out’ squatters

Oct 16, 2020 - Kaieteur News – Lands occupied by squatters at Success, East Coast of Demerara (ECD) are now heavily flooded following a decision earlier this week by the Guyana Sugar Corporation Incorporated (GuySuCo) to do so.

In light of the flooding, several squatters have vacated the lands, claiming that it was a move by GuySuCo to get rid of them. However, a significant number of them have decided to stay put, insisting that the water will not hamper their existence.            Continue reading →
