This Sunday

"We Look to the Stars"
The vastness of the universe can leave us in awe. Rev. Aileen will lead us in a service that explores the wonder of the celestial world. From black holes to galaxies that shift and move to the beauty of our own planet, we will explore our fascination with the stars.

Religious Education
Children in RE explore how awe can arise from slowing down. Children will learn about “Snowflake Bentley” and how his awe at the natural world and patience led to photographs of snowflakes.

The High School Youth Group will be going on a field trip to Washington DC with youth from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Loudoun. Youth will meet at UUCL in Leesburg at 9:45 a.m. to travel to DC to attend the 11:15 worship service at All Soul's Church, and then eat lunch at Ben's Chili Bowl. Please contact to RSVP.

Message from Rev. Aileen

We look to the stars perhaps because they give us the illusion we can touch eternity. We can see them and yet we know many are light years away. We only glimpse the light they once emitted. We want to be part of something infinitely larger than ourselves. And we are. We are part of this vast beautiful planet that grounds us and gives us a home. When we contribute toward a more just world we are bringing infinity to our fingertips.

Help Needed!

Rev. Aileen will be moving the last of her things (most of her stuff has already been moved) to her new house on Saturday December 7. She just needs two or three strong people for a couple of hours in the morning (anywhere in the 9:00-12:00 time frame) to help move some of the heavier stuff (there are no couches or refrigerators) that Karl and she cannot do by themselves. They will be renting a small truck. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You! Please RSVP to Rev. Aileen if you think you can help or 607-379-2265.

Thank you!

A BIG THANK YOU to all who supported our auction: Volunteers, especially the Youth, donors, food providers and of course, the bidders.  We exceeded our goal thanks to all of YOU!
