Church Flowers

This week, the Church flowers have been kindly provided by Colin France, in memory of Jennie.

Womens Fellowship

As it is Holy Week, we shall be reading our favourite bible passages, hymns and poems on Tuesday 15th April, at 2.15pm.

Rev Leslie Holmes
It is with sadness that we share the news of the death of Rev Leslie Holmes at the weekend after a short spell in hospital. Leslie will have been known to many of you as a supernumerary minister in the Circuit and a member of the Church at Guiseley but you may not know that Leslie also served in the Circuit during his active ministry, when it was known by a different name, and that he has been in the Ministry since 1957.

We give thanks for his life and ministry and our memories of him and we rejoice that he is now at home with his Lord, and with his wife Catherine. We hold his daughter Elizabeth and his son Michael and their families in our prayers.

There will be a private cremation followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Guiseley Methodist Church on Tuesday 22nd April at 11.30am.

Viv Bednall says: "I want to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful gifts, including church flowers, cards and messages I have received for my 50+ birthday. It is completely overwhelming. Also to everyone who made my party a roaring success. You know who you are. I am now counting backwards so will be celebrating my 50th birthday in 10 years time!

If anyone has any photos from my party please would you let me have a copy.

Helen Russell is pleased to announce that her and her long-term partner Andrew, will be getting married this week, in Otley.

Helen, Grace, Toby and Andrew are very happy to be taking their blended family on the next step of their journey together and ask that you hold them in your prayers with love.

Church Collection

The average collection in March was £369.31.

New Place for New People (NPNP) Steering Team

Exciting things are underway for Methodism in Otley, including plans to explore a “new place for new people.” We’d like people from around the circuit to be a part of the Steering Team that will discern what form this would take, so please get in touch with Rev Wendy Walker if you have a passion for reaching new people and would like to get involved. There will be an open meeting on Tuesday 15th April at 7.30pm to provide more information to those considering joining the team (venue TBC).

And finally … at the airport this week, a woman completely passed out next to me on the baggage carousel. Luckily its a very efficient airport, and she came around again quite quickly.
