The results are in from the Baywatch survey carried out earlier in the summer.

Disabled Motoring UK asked disabled motorists to survey their local supermarket, to see how many disabled parking bays were occupied by cars without a Blue Badge on display.

They also looked for visible signage about enforcement – which you may not be surprised to know makes a significant difference to the levels of abuse...

Nobody could be in any doubt about the impact of obesity on NHS resources – but there is a growing challenge at the other end of the scale.

Official figures from NHS Digital show that the number of hospital beds occupied by people being treated for malnutrition has almost trebled in the last ten years.

Earlier this month, the Superhero Triathlon took place at Dorney Lake in Windsor.

This fully inclusive event saw 22 teams of sporting superheroes representing international disability charity Leonard Cheshire.

Traveling from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the charity’s participants enjoyed an exciting day of competition with Paralympian Olivia Breen in attendance.

The Lottery-funded campaign is entitled ‘We Are Undefeatable’ and aims to inspire people with long-term health conditions to be active.

I suspect that you, like me, tend to think of bariatric equipment only being relevant to the largest users. 

But I recently heard from Benmor Medical about the important contribution made by a larger scale bed to end-of-life care in a hospice.

Without taking up extra space unnecessarily, this extendable bed has room for two people... and maybe even a special pet.

Independent Living site subscriber Yorkshire Care has launched the latest version of their ProSpec hospital chair, designed in conjunction with the Aintree University Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

It is described as probably the only hospital chair designed to meet the needs of both patients and staff, with comfort, ease of positioning and infection control all to the fore.
