Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival
Based in NSW, Australia near Gondwana Rainforests, the 20th Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival is an acoustic weekend of concerts, workshops, jamming, dancing and more taking place 21-23 October. Focused primarily on Old-Time, Bluegrass and Folk traditions, it is a family friendly event with something for everyone.

Pádraig Ó Cuinn hosts this program on 2RRR with interviews with people involved in local & global music. Guests are invited into a virtual 'pub' to sit on 'The High Stool', & discuss music, musical influences, & whatever they like, with their virtual 'bar-person'.
His guests this week are Lindsay Martin & Victoria Vigenser, collectively known as We Mavericks who have a unique sound and play folk that resembles everything else! This award-winning duo always pack emotional punches but have songs to heal the scars!

As the military invasion in Ukraine escalates, millions of people are facing a serious humanitarian crisis and are in need of urgent assistance. Together, we can support communities impacted by this devastating violence and the regions open to helping displaced people.

- Mar’yana Sywak and Jaga Band
- internationally renowned bandura player Victor Mishalov
- Cultural Arts Collective (Sydney Sacred Music Festival, Worlds Collide) founded by Richard Petkovic and Maria Mitar, will be showcasing their work
- Sensational classical guitarist Hoàng Ngọc-Tuấn (Vietnam) and unique throat singer and horse fiddler Bukhu Ganburged (Mongolia).

The Peppercorns were born and bred in the open expanses of Western Australia, delighting audiences across the state for years with their homespun songs, beautifully delivered harmonies and acoustic textures. Qais Essar - 7.30pm
Qais Essar is a contemporary Afghan composer, instrumentalist and producer who channels his melodic designs through the rabab, the 2,500-year old lute-like national instrument of Afghanistan.
