6th Annual Lithuanian Conference of Economic Research
On June 27-28, 2017, the global Lithuanian researchers of Economics gathered together for the 6th time to prove the necessity of expertise sharing and life meetings. This year they came from more than 30 foreign universities, discussed PhD topics in the areas of Banking, Health and Development, Political Economy, International Economics, Industrial Organization, Public Economics, Corporate Finance, and planned further actions for the promotion of science into the policy and decision making. Closing the Season of “Lietuva³” Discussions
GLL and Business Law Firm TRINITI invited panelists of the discussions “Lietuva³” and “Lietuva, Quo Vadis?” to gather for the appreciation evening and celebrate the closing of the third season. Since 2014, discussions have been raising the most important questions of Lithuania’s future and encouraging to listen to different opinions, find global and local solutions. Naturally, skillful and expert panelists were the most important part in creating a vibrant flow of those ideas. This time, global Lithuanian Jurgis Didžiulis invited panelists to share thoughts about Lithuanian identity while hosting restaurant "Sweet Root" treated to traditional Lithuanian snacks in a sophisticated and modern way. Business Breakfast with Kerry Secrest
On early morning of June 29, 2017, GLL had the pleasure of hosting the Business Breakfast with American-Lithuanian leadership consultant and executive coach Kerry Secrest. Kerry was happy to share her knowledge with professionals working in leading positions on a topic “How to Influence without Authority”. During the morning session, participants not only learned about the most effective techniques of communicating with others and getting people on-board with the ideas in order to increase impact in the workplace but also had to move a bit checking if their posture signalizes leadership. Professional Clubs Will Meet in Copenhagen
On August 19, 2017, young and vibrant club of Lithuanian Professionals in Copenhagen came up with idea to bring together the most active connectors of Lithuanian professionals abroad for live discussion of prospects and sustainability of professional clubs, their potential for local community as well as Lithuania, the need for more active internal communication and growing awareness of clubs in Lithuania. The key-note of the event will be presented by Marius Raugalas from Lithuanian City of London Club who will disclose the secret of long-term activities and developed credibility of the club.

Lithuanian Professionals in Copenhagen - Greta Petrošiūtė
How does she manage to do everything? Greta Petrošiūtė not only works as a senior analyst at DanskeBank in Copenhagen, is a volunteer mentor at GLL project Big Brother but also initiated the establishment of a new professionals’ club abroad - LPC - Lithuanian Professionals in Copenhagen. When asked what was the main motivation of taking this step, she said that having an officially recognized club in the country was the only direct path to a simplified process of connecting and collaborating with businesses, public institutions and various organizations in Lithuania and Denmark. Therefore, now members of the club have more legal means of sustaining the link between Lithuania and the global world.

Global Professionals in Ireland - Monika Balse
Monika Balse works as an Order Operations Manager for EMEA region at VMware in Cork, Ireland. Being one of those global citizens who experienced living in quite a few different countries and met various different people, she felt the need of a professionals’ club where like-minded people could work together in order to contribute to the prosperity of Lithuania from abroad. As a representative of LPNI (Lithuanian Professional Network Ireland), Monika said that their biggest expectations concern changing the stigmatized stereotype of emigrants and they hope that soon enough their input will become a tangible support for Lithuania, whether in a form of professional consulting, direct international investments or closer collaboration between institutions in Lithuania and professionals’ clubs abroad.

In less than a week, on July 6 at 9 PM sharp, by singing in unison choir our national anthem Tautiška Giesmė, we will start celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of Restored State of Lithuania. The beautiful tradition of National Anthem Around the World has proven our potential to unite for most important things. For July 6, 2018, we are aiming to gather at least 4.000.000 Lithuanians all around the world for singing and proving that Lithuania is steadily growing.
This year, we will grant the special National Flag signed by President Dalia Grybauskaitė to the person who will invite the biggest number of singers. Ten branded T-shirts with the words of the National Anthem will be distributed to other active connectors. Connect!

"Talent for Lithuania" Summer Meet-up! | July 11
GLL initiative Talent for Lithuania invites to meet in Vilnius! The programme is aimed at attracting bright Lithuanian graduates of foreign universities to Lithuania for paid career-boosting positions at the most innovative companies operating in the country. Every season we receive more and more applications and questions regarding the project, therefore, we decided to gather all enthusiasts and representatives from the participating companies for an evening together. Let's meet up and talk more about the project, discuss the possibilities it provides and hear fantastic success stories from program Alumni. If you happen to know someone who would be interested, share this event with them. Maybe their career opportunity is already waiting for them, they just need to meet it on Tuesday, July 11, in Vilnius!

As the crowd of 10.000 people gathered last year to celebrate freedom of meetings and expressions, this year, the festival invites to generate ideas and propose solutions to the country. GLL, represented by the director Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė, is facilitating the discussion of Talents Attraction.

Discussion Festival "EXACTLY!" | September 8 - 9
GLL and Business Law Firm TRINITI opens the season of discussions “Lietuva³” in discussion festival "Exactly!" ("Būtent!"). It is the celebration of variety of opinions and democracy, where each view has a right to exist. On September 9, "Lietuva³" will invite you to discuss Lithuanian identity: can we create a global and plural identity or we ought to preserve the local and traditional one?

Global Lithuanian Awards | December 28, 2017
Just like last year we will end the year with day fully devoted to Talents Coming Back. December 28, 2017 will start with Global Lithuanian Forum devoted to the discussions of potential of global talent for Lithuania and Lithuania's potential to attract the aforementioned global talent. It will go on with the celebration of Global Lithuanian Awards where most valuable achievements of global Lithuanians will be announced and awarded. The day will be crowned by festive dinner and celebration of bright prospects of the coming year.
