Clergy Changes Spur Gratitude and Hope
A Time of Great Change

Gratitude for faithful service, great hope for the future

Over the course of the last month, we have had quite a series of announcements regarding the clergy team for our Parish grouping. These have been shared as they happened via announcements at Mass and Bulletin articles, but now that the dust has settled, we thought it would be good to put them all in one place. These changes bring about a sense of gratitude for the faithful service of good priests who will be moving to new assignments and great hope for the priests who will accompany us on the path forward.

Effective July 1
Fr. John Bachkay

will move from his role as Administrator of our grouping to Replacement Ministry, where he will support parishes in need of extended assistance until his anticipated retirement in July, 2021. We are grateful for Fr. John’s service here and wish him good health and many blessings in his future ministry. Thank you, Fr. John.

Effective July 1

Fr. Joseph Freedy

will move from his role as team member, Divine Mercy Parish, to Administrator of our grouping. Fr. Joe was a Parochial Vicar at the Wexford Parish grouping of St. Alphonsus and St. Alexis in 2018-19, and was also previously the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. We look forward to getting to know Fr. Joe and helping him with the challenging and exciting task of bringing our parishes together.

Effective July 13
Fr. David Green

will move from his role as Parochial Vicar for our grouping to Parish Chaplain at Saint John XXIII Parish in Finleyville/ Peters Township. Fr. Green will always be remembered for his quick smile and positive attitude. This serve you well in your future ministry as well. We wish you all the best, Fr. Dave.

Effective July 13

Fr. Jeffrey Craig

will begin his first assignment as Parochial Vicar to our grouping after being ordained on June 27. You can read a more detailed write up on Fr. Jeff here. We can’t wait to meet Fr. Jeff and welcome him to our Parish family.

With all of the challenges that our current environment presents for us, let’s go out of our way to show our support for ALL of these priests and their dedication to their vocation, and ministry for The Lord.
