Alongside Timeless and Second Chance, KALPA holds a selection of white and brown Pulses, the most representative corpus of the work of this artist. These sculptures present a honeycomb pattern featuring the repetitiveness of lines and the ideas of fragility and strength, playing with light and textures, convex and concave surfaces, and various nuances of colour. Here Pagliarulo models each piece with innumerable gestures, having her whole body participate in the process and giving each piece a unique shape. Through their mouth-like openings, Pulses seem to speak in unison to the observer telling of a hidden intimacy and of the artist's intercourse with the matter.
These sculptures have been integrated into significant art consultancy projects, including the new urban sanctuary AMAN New York, for which KALPA curated a prodigious collection of contemporary art and craft, exploring the relationship between art, interiors, and hospitality. In particular, Pulses have been destined to enrich the clean spatial lines of AMAN Spas, where artworks mirror the search for emotional and physical balance and relate a feeling of impermanent in life, embracing the beauty of inner flaws and struggles.
