Dear GNN faithful,
What a joy it is to celebrate Jesus! This time of the year around Easter is great. In Nepal the Christians can now celebrate Easter too, although centuries have passed since the resurrection and no one in Northwest Nepal has gathered to worship the King of Kings. Satan has had his way with Hindu festivals, parties to honor what? Festivals where fooled persons worship gods made of wood and stone. They sacrifice lambs, throwing the blood of the lamb over idols made of gold. Isn’t this just another way that Satan uses a little truth and a lot of lies?
But now a new age is coming! The people of NW Nepal are hearing about Jesus. Many of the things we read about in our Bible are happening now in this first century church that is starting!! Christians celebrate the blood of the Lamb, sacrificed perfectly to save the sins of the world. There is repentance for sins, and belief in our One True God! Christians now take Holy Communion, a sign not of a lamb killed with its blood poured onto an idol, but Communion taken to remember the Lamb of God, His blood poured out and his body broken for us !
God is also using miracles in our churches. Last week a man from Bajura, which is in NW Nepal, sought healing and treatment for his paralyzed hand and foot. He first followed his Hindu upbringing and showed himself to the Hindu priests and wizards. They could do nothing. He visited a medical site near his home. They also said that there was no way to fix his paralysis. He then traveled to a bigger, government hospital in Nepalgunj where Good News Nepal has its medical mission. The doctors again said they could not treat the man. Because of his paralyzed foot, he could not walk.
Finally, this dear man remembered a GNN preacher in his town who talked about a man called Jesus, the True God. Even though he did not believe at all about this Christian religion, he was desperate. Our Pastor Dipak Singh, working in the Nepalgunj hospital, shared the Gospel with him and told him that God wanted to save his life, not his limbs. After many words spoken, prayers uttered and the guidance of the Spirit, this dear man believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior!! Later, many prayers asking God for healing resulted in the man’s foot and hand changing! He can now move his foot and hand, and the following video shows him walking down the steps at the GNN Training Center! Thanks be to God for his grace and mercy in healing both soul and body. The man is now back in his village, telling everyone about the man called Jesus who takes away our sins and does great things. Pray for the man from Bajura as he grows as a Christian, surrounded by Hindu people who now wonder what happened. Oh, and by the way, doesn’t this sound familiar as we read about Jesus in the days before his crucifixion?
