I realized I hadn't told you about my trip! Where has the time gone? I had so much fun in August checking out the Stanley Hotel in CO!
My trip was amazing, and anytime I can fit something bookish into my travels, I do it! For the trip I took in August, I had an opportunity to visit the Historic Stanley Hotel located in Estes Park, CO. This building fostered what became one of my favorite books by Stephen King, The Shining. You can see some images of my shenanigans below.
I am happy to announce that I've finished Athena's story, and have been pulling together research for my next book which will be Arachne's story. Athena's Challenge is (what I like to call) marinating and I hope to get back to edits by the beginning of October. I feel it is important to come back to it with fresh eyes, and I hope to have the end lead smoothly into the story I'm working on now.
For my September travels, I am heading to New Orleans, which I'm so very excited to do! I plan on fitting in some research as well as some fun, so will report back next month on the number of beignets I consume. Surely I can't get into too much trouble over a 4-day trip? lol
I hope everyone is happy and healthy, and if you are reading... as always let me know what! I will share my latest purchases below which are planted firmly on my TBR!
There is nothing more fun for me than experiencing something that ties into writing when I am out and about! When you combine that with one of my favorite authors of all time... well, let's just say it was a blast!
The Stanley Hotel was the place that inspired Stephen King to write, what is now one of his most famous stories, The Shining. While the movie wasn't shot here, it does have a most distinct vibe, and a lot of guests who still linger, if you know what I mean. We went on a ghost tour there, specific to King and the Shining, and it didn't disappoint! Walking the grounds at night was fun, and I came back with a ton of photos and a whole lot of inspiration for my Supernatural Mystery series.

Once again, I've added several books to my TBR, and I really need to get those shelves on order before I get any more!
I reported last month that I added Sarah J. Maas to my pile, and have already completed the first book and have started the 2nd. I am definitely in a love/hate relationship with the series as I just don't have time for it, but I am loving the story. Ugh, bookworm problems!
Here are some other titles I have picked up:
The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
Mum's the Word by Kate Collins
The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
The Witch Haven by Sasha Peyton Smith
Fairy Tale by Stephen King (excited for this!)
Have you read any of these, or added them to your TBR? Let me know by shooting me an email! In the meantime, have a great month everyone! And as always, Happy reading! XO
