Bristol Fireworks Fiesta at Canford Park Saturday 2 November, 7pm
Bristol Round Table and The Rotary Club of Clifton, will once again be holding their spectacular fireworks display, which raises thousands of pounds for local good causes over the past thirteen years.
This year there will be a foam party for families after the display and through the evening there will be a compare from Party Peeps to entertain everyone and to do the countdown.
Money raised will be divided between the two clubs and then distributed to many good causes, mostly local charities. The largest contribution is to The Lord Mayor of Bristol Children's Appeal, which helps less fortunate Bristol families at Christmas.

The latest edition of The Bristol Magazine has embraced some of the city's rebellious spirit...
Bristolians are known to some as rebels with big hearts who choose to speak up, act out and aren't afraid to live a little differently. And we've fully embraced this approach to life in our November issue, including an exclusive chat with Carol Vorderman about her new book on politics, and a visit to Rockaway Park where a community of artists, punks and those seeking an alternative way of life are hard at work trying to improve the world for other people too.
But even rebels need a safe place to unwind, and we've got just the thing in our interiors feature, which shows you how to create the cosiest nooks at home in which to see out the winter months. Plus all our regular, luxurious lifestyle features and plenty more!
15,000 copies are delivered door to door, and you can pick up a copy at many places around town – including our stands at Waitrose, John Lewis and Harvey Nichols.
Read the digital version of our current issue here!
And if you would like to have a copy sent in the post every month, then we offer a postal subscription for just £33 for 12 issues, £18 for six issues or buy a copy for just £4.95. UK mainland prices. For Euro and World zone subscription prices – click here to subscribe on our website.

Tartiflette
Recipe by Melissa Blease
Give you Bonfire Night celebrations an après ski twist with this super-cosy Tartiflette: a luxuriously rich combination of potatoes, cream and bacon originating from the Haute-Savoie region of France.
Ingredients (serves 4, easily scaled up for a celebratory gathering) 1.5 kg waxy new potatoes 320g smoked bacon lardons 3 large shallots, peeled and thinly sliced 2 cloves garlic, peeled and thinly sliced 1 large sprig of fresh thyme leaves, picked 75ml dry white wine 3 tbsp crème fraîche 2 tbsp chopped parsley 250g Camembert
Method 1. Put the whole, unpeeled potatoes in a pan of cold salted water, bring to the boil and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until just tender. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 190c/gas mark 5, heat a large frying pan and gently fry the lardons and sliced shallots over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently (you probably won't need to add any oil as the lardons will release enough fat).
2. Drain the potatoes and allow them to cool slightly in the sieve. When they’re cool enough to handle but still warm, slice into thickish slices.
3. Add the garlic and thyme to the lardons and shallots and saute for 1 minute. Add the white wine and allow it to bubble down for a minute or so, then remove the pan from the heat, add the crème fraîche and parsley and stir well. Add the sliced potatoes to the pan, stir again to thoroughly combine, check the seasoning and spoon the mixture into a shallow 20x30cm ovenproof dish.
4. Slice the Camembert in half horizontally through the middle to create two thick discs, then cut each disc in half again so you end up with 4 semi-circles. Lay these on top of the potatoes.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until bubbling and golden on top. Serve piping hot accompanied by a crisp, well-dressed green salad - and, if you want to recreate the full-on après ski experience, a selection of French charcuterie, continental meats, cornichons and silverskin onions.

Mexican Spirits at The Great Wine Co.
Tequila and Mezcal are in great growth right now, no longer consigned to Margaritas, shooters and student parties. Finally, the real craft, variety and astonishing deliciousness of Tequila and Mezcal has become the talk of the town. The beauty of Tequila, like wine, lies in its subordination to nature - harvests of agave are notoriously fickle and can be greatly affected by the whims and effects of weather and climate. There is also something of an undiscovered country for Tequila explorers as the production of some of the finest tequilas is still very much a small family business, craft in the truest sense.
