4. Migration Advisory Committee
As many of you are all too well aware, since Brexit it has been extremely difficult to recruit personal assistants and care staff. It isn't all about the end of freedom of movement, of course, but pre-existing problems of low pay and lack of career progression in the sector have certainly been exacerbated by this.
The Migration Advisory Committee has produced a report highlighting the 66,000 current shortfall in care workers and 267,000 that will be required to keep up with growing demand.
A more positive approach to immigration could help in the short term...
