Feb. 6: FSU Day at the Capitol

Florida State University will celebrate its preeminence  during FSU Day at the Capitol. The day features an outdoor pep rally, remarks by President John Thrasher and performances by the FSU cheerleaders, members of the Flying High Circus and a pep band from the College of Music. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Florida Capitol, 400 S. Monroe St. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to wear garnet and gold. Feb. 9-10: Social Justice Symposium

The Black Faculty and Staff Organization and the Latin@ Faculty Advocacy Resource Group present the FSU Social Justice Symposium 2018: Activism in the AcademyThe two-day event will recognize how ethnic and cultural studies are influenced and bring students, teachers and activists together to build relationships and explore opportunities and solutions. Keynote Speaker W. Kamau Bell will present "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour" at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in the Oglesby Union Ballroom. A full day of panel discussions will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Student Services Building.
