Life. Horsemanship. Gratitude.
The world is full of things that make us unhappy, frustrated, angry, sad and disappointed.
How can we live a life without mistrust and judgement?
How do we start our day with hope, optimism, faith, belief, happiness and positive energy?
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE:
DAILY GRATITUDE PRACTICE.
The daily practice of gratitude will organically flow into our horsemanship.
We know a negative attitude is bad for us and everyone around us. If you see the world as 'unfair, mean and frustrating', you will see and find more 'unfair, mean and frustrating' in the world.
In comparison, gratitude makes you happy and healthier. Find genuine reasons to be thankful for your life or the world around you and put your attention and focus there. There is a happy and beautiful world out there. It’s just a matter of how you look at things.
The benefits of gratitude practice are endless.
It is proven scientifically that the practice of gratitude has deep positive impacts on our physical and mental health.
The practice of gratitude can enhance positive emotions, deepen our relationships and help us to stay happy, focused, more productive, more alive and 'live' more out of life.
The list is large and the more you practice, the bigger it actually gets.
TIPS FOR PRACTICING GRATITUDE
~Notice the Good Things in Your Life.
Begin noticing and identifying the things you are grateful for. Tune in to the small everyday details of your life and notice the good things you might sometimes take for granted.
~Each day, think of 3 things you are grateful for.
Nature. People. Community. Shelter. Creature comforts like a warm bed or a good meal. It's amazing what you notice when you focus on feeling and being grateful.
~Begin a gratitude journal.
Making a commitment to writing down good things each day makes it more likely that we notice good things as they happen. Spend time shopping for the 'right' journal for your gratitude thoughts and things. The 'right' image or quote on the cover or inside the journal that makes you smile or laugh can bring another depth to your practice. Practice gratitude rituals.
~Express gratitude to yourself.
Thank someone yourself and someone else at least once a day. Express gratitude by doing a kindness. Express appreciation to someone who did something nice.
Make gratitude a part of everyday of your life and your horsemanship. It's motivating and empowering.
