Hello Friends!

Happy Friday- and, "Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life!"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and cool things to check out!

This week I have been pretty much out-of-pocket and in recuperation mode... but, I am here with my weekly commitment of shares. I hope you enjoy them, and have a FABULOUS day!

MY WEEKLY PICKS:

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Eucatastrophe — a happy ending to a story

  • ADVICE: "You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work-in-progress at the same time”
    ~ Sophia Bush ~

  • MOOD MUSIC: To know me, is to know I'm pretty much an "old school soul" at heart...and, you also know that my FAVORITE singer of all time is Stevie Wonder. This week's share is a special find of a duet between Stevie & Tom Jones. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

  • SMILE OF THE WEEK: Watching this woman (Shirley Goodman) brings me so much joy! As an avid salsa dancer (even though I don't get out nearly as much as I used to), I love how the power of connecting with music can bring so much happiness to the soul.

  • FOOD OF THE WEEK: As I continue to expand my palate into the world of plant-based foods, I am adding the Impossible Burger to my list. Not sure if all Impossible Burgers are created equal- but, the one I had topped with mozzarella cheese this week was grrrrreat!!!

  • RANDOM LIFE TIP: If you find yourself consistently annoyed with extra people in your (travel) photos, THIS TIP may help you get the final photo you were wanting, sans the extra people.

  • THING I WANT TO TRY: "Shark Tank" has been one of my favorite guilty pleasures over the years. I love watching people pitch their products, and seeing how the success flow goes. THIS is a great capture of 18 products that have been proven to  actually be very useful around the house.

MUSINGS ON LIFE:

"The Little Things?

The Little Moments?

They Aren't Little."

~ John Kabat-Zinn ~

In this world of "social media" that we live in, we often tend to share and focus on the "highlight reels" of our lives. We post for likes, go down the rabbit holes of curiosity, do life comparisons, catch up on the latest pop culture, and a myriad of other things...while we may hold our innermost needs, fears, and thoughts to ourselves. There can be a plethora of reasons as to why we do this- and, I am definitely no psychologist- but, I do feel that it is somehow rooted in the mix of wanting to feel/establish connection. I believe that we all fall guilty to this in some way or another- whether it is demonstrated through our designated social mediums, or through some other outlet. I think it is simply a vice of being human.

This past month, beyond the "highlight reels", has been quite an interesting one for me. I have found myself in deep reflection and thoughts over many things that have transpired in my life, and have not necessarily always fully known who to "comfortably" share everything with. But, one of things that I have been personally challenging myself with this year, is to lean into using my voice to have those "seemingly" difficult conversations, and being more open and vulnerable to those who I know truly have my best interest at heart. I recently shared with my Dad (who is also in the above picture with me) a situation that I was dealing with; and, without any hesitation, he jumped on a plane to spend a week with me to help me out. He has stood by my side, listened with care, and shown an immeasurable amount of unconditional love and support towards me. Spending this week with him, enjoying and taking in "the little things," and "the little moments"-like strolling through the park and sharing some fried clams, talking about life, going to the $6 movies, creating our own inside jokes, and sharing smiles and memories over the years has in no way been "little" to me. I cherish these moments in my heart, for I know that they are priceless, and hold a value beyond compare.

***Dad, I know that you will read this newsletter at some point today--- and I want you to know that I am truly grateful to be able to call you my father. I love you with my whole entire heart, and feel so blessed that God gifted me with you in my life. Thank you for being you, and for being the best father that a daughter could ever ask for.

CRE8TIVE CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:

This week I challenge you to think about those "little things" moments in life your life, and to sit in the full gratitude and magic of what they are.
