HRSA: Biden-Harris Administration Announces Major Expansion of Funding Available For Montana Home Visiting Program (06/11) - HRSA announced Montana is eligible this year for $5.4 million in federal funding for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program, which provides in-home services to expectant families and families with young children. 

MACPAC: Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP (06/11) -The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) released its June 2024 Report, which reports on Medicaid and CHIP financing, tools states can use to optimize state Medicaid agency contracts (SMACs), enrollment trends in Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs), and improvements to demographic data collection in Medicaid.

Cincinnati Children's: Introducing the ‘4Ps’ of Population Health and Health Equity Research (06/12) - Experts at Cincinnati Children’s have developed a strategic "4P’s Road Map" for conducting large-scale population health and health equity research, as detailed in a JAMA Pediatrics article, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, data integration, institutional support, and community engagement to address health disparities.

JAMA: Prediabetes Prevalence by Adverse Social Determinants of Health in Adolescents (06/11) - In a study of 1563 adolescents with obesity, adverse SDOH (i.e. food insecurity, lack of private health insurance, and lower household income) were independently associated with higher prediabetes prevalence, regardless of race and ethnicity, suggesting that identifying SDOH in clinical settings and referring patients to services and resources could help reduce youth-onset type 2 diabetes risk.

KFF: Key Data on Health and Health Care by Race and Ethnicity (06/11) - Racial and ethnic disparities in health and healthcare persist in the U.S. with people of color often experiencing worse health outcomes and access to care; using data to identify and address these disparities is crucial for achieving greater health equity.
