F-1 Student News
Must Remain Full-Time Hold

A hold preventing you from dropping classes has been added to your student account. You may still add classes, but to drop a class follow the instructions on the Visa Authorizations Requests page.

This hold is intended to help F-1 students avoid losing legal visa status by inadvertently dropping below full-time enrollment without getting the necessary prior permission.

Swap - Don't Drop!

Once a class starts partial tuition is charged for dropping but you can avoid this by swapping for a different course.

  • Valid for both credit and continuing ed courses
  • May be possible to swap through September 11th
  • Credits for added courses must be greater than or equal to credits for dropped courses
  • Must meet all enrollment requirements

Find more information about swapping classes here

Cultural Connect is an international friendship program that connects international and U.S. students in a fun, positive and engaging community. Participants develop meaningful friendships within the program, gain valuable cross-cultural skills and knowledge of other cultures. International and U.S. student pairs spend time together (virtually, following guidelines on social distancing) throughout the semester, and attend group virtual events.
