It was the last warm day of summer in August. We were sitting on the porch of our summer cottage and the sun was slowly rolling down towards the horizon. The last rays of light revealed a spider web above us, and painted it pure gold. The web was quite small, and perfect in shape. During the day I had not noticed it at all.
(I know many people aren't exactly fond of spiders, but I have always found them interesting. I save spiders from harm. And it is good to remember that according to one estimate: if all the spiders disappeared suddenly, the earth would be covered by a 1m deep mat of insects in a week...)
