News and New Releases from Robinne's Desk...

April 2021

Well, I promised I wouldn't spam you with e-mails, but I did intend to send out more than one newsletter a year. 2020 messed with all our plans! But exciting things are happening anyway: a new release, some book recommendations, and a recipe ... read on!

Pandemic Poetry

If you follow my blog, you'll know that during New Zealand's Covid-19 lockdown last year, I was living in a shed in a new community. To connect with neighbours I couldn't meet, I posted a poem a day on the front fence throughout lockdown. The actual physical poems (scrawled on building wrap with a Sharpie) have been acquired by the Canterbury Museum for their Covid collection, and I've published them in this wee collection.

Recommended Read

I had no intention of buying a book when I ran across this title the other day. I bought it on impulse based on the title, and then binge-read it, giggling the whole time.

A girl whose only magical ability involves manipulating dough must save herself and her city from someone intent upon stamping out magicians and taking control of the city. Her allies include a sentient sourdough starter and an animated gingerbread man.

A fun escapist read for anyone. Aimed at the tween/teen market, but with lots for adults to love, too.

What I'm baking...

If you follow my blog, you know I love to bake, and I enjoy developing my own recipes. One of these days, I'll get round to collecting all those recipes into a book. For now, I thought I'd share with you one of my favourites. These filled chocolate cookies are my answer to cravings for Oreos.
