On 27th August 2024 at 12:05 UTC, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received a report of a light blue Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) in position 13°20'N 42°49'E, approximately 24NM west of Al Mukha, Yemen.

The Master of the reporting vessel also sighted three small craft approximately 3NM north of the USV. These sightings are in addition to multiple sightings over the previous 24 hours of suspicious UAVs, USVs, and small craft operating in the region; North and South of Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Authorities are currently investigating the incidents.

All vessels in the area are advised to proceed with caution and to report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
