Hi friend,
How is the summer treating you? I’m busy packing, ready to move my nomad author life for the rest of the year from San Miguel de Allende to the coast of Mexico (I share a little more on that below).
Congrats to last month’s winner of The Beach Trap, Terri C, and thanks to all who entered!
I have another two giveaways this month, with a funny story. July 8th was the second anniversary of my first novel, The Exit Strategy. And would you believe I completely forgot? I’ve been so busy working on a rewrite of my second novel that I didn’t remember until my friend Janet messaged me.
Anyway, I was feeling inspired and made this silly TikTok video – based on my imagining my first book being mad at me for forgetting it’s birthday! I also put a flash giveaway together on Instagram that day to calm my upset toddler of a book.
In case you missed that giveaway, I’m going to do another here for you, as one of my lovely newsletter subscribers. Just let me know at the link if you'd like to win a signed copy of the Exit Strategy.

Are you following me on BookBub? This month I’m part of another special giveaway. If you follow certain authors on BookBub (including me!), you can win 35+ fantastic books. Plus, the Grand Prize winner gets a BRAND NEW eReader 😁

So what of my travel plans?
After only one month back in San Miguel, we’ve accepted an offer to rent our house here for the next 8 months! Which means Hubby and I need to choose where to live during that time.
We’ve settled on a trial of Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, a beautiful area popular with surfers and backpackers. We’re nervous about the heat and humidity, so we’ve rented a place for two weeks, which gives us time to check out the heat level. If we can bear it, we'll organize a rental through year end.
Our backup plan (if the heat is overwhelming) is we will relocate to the cooler city of Oaxaca.
Over the last weeks we’ve been trying to buy a cheap car here (that has been quite the experience!). Yesterday, we finally succeeded, and as you receive this Hubby and I are on our way- driving three days to the coast.
Wish us luck? I'm looking forward to sharing photos of the ocean and some of the amazing Oaxacan food! I’ll keep you updated on what happens in future newsletters.
