Dear Scouting Friends and Family,
Eagle Scout and pro football player David Montgomery was recently injured, so we’d love to rally our Scouts to record some encouraging messages to help with his recovery. If you could record a short video clip for us, we’re going to compile the messages into one video and share with David via a social media post. Please submit your video by 5pm on Thursday.
Here are some example messages you can use, but feel free to use your own:
- From one scout to another, we’re wishing you a speedy recovery!
- Troop XYZ is sending all the positive vibes your way, David. Can’t wait to see you back in action!
- We’ll miss seeing you on the field each week. Get well soon!
- You’re in our thoughts and prayers, David!
- Scouts know all about perseverance. You’ve got this!
- You’re an inspiration to Scouts beyond the field, David. Your hard work and determination will pay off!
- We’ve seen you overcome challenges before, so we know you’ll come out even stronger.
Please upload your video clips here, with your name and unit number as the file name:

Tips for recording your video clip:
- Wear your Scout uniform or Scout branded shirt; do not wear anything Lions/NFL branded.
- Do not mention the Detroit Lions or NFL in your message.
- Capture the video vertically.
- You can record it in selfie mode of yourself, or have a friend record it for you.
- Try to record it in an empty/clean space with nothing in the background.
- Record your video in a quiet space so we can clearly hear your message.
- Keep your video around 5 to 15 seconds long.
- Don’t add anything to the video clip, like music or text.
