I love to experiment with different constructions for my favourite accessories and that's how these mitts came about! Instead of the traditional gusset under and around the thumb, Dì-Shiopaich has its gusset on the back of the hand.
The beautiful lace pattern splits and half flows towards the outside of the hand around the gusset. This split pattern is where the name came from - it reminded one of my Patrons of a zip so I called it Dì-Shiopaich which means unzip in Scottish Gaelic!
