Updated for 2023 comes Lost In The Boonies! Just like previous years, CAN YOU SURVIVE THE EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS OF THE BOONIES?
It starts like it did before, with a hike - then begins the real challenge. Up to 4 competition-grade orienteering courses that will take your Troop/Crew/Patrol through the muddy trails of Ortonville Recreation Area with all the RAIN, SNOW, FOG you've come to expect FROM THE BOONIES!
Presented in partnership with the Southern Michigan Orienteering Club (SMOC), this event brings actual competition-grade courses designed to challenge the Scouts in their skills, with awards to be presented during the Saturday evening campfire.
The Order of the Arrow will also be performing a Call-out Ceremony and Brotherhood Ceremony during this event.
Overnight Camping is available both Friday and Saturday Nights - Park fees and SMOC course fees are included in the registration fees.
Cubs of all ages are invited to participate in the event on Saturday day-only, and will take part in the same hike as the Scouts. Then a special event is planned for Cubs of all ranks to work on Scouting skills and Rank Adventures, with take-home crafts for everyone!
