Can't beet fresh, local quality 🥬 💚 every Friday 3-6pm |
View in browser
|
|
|
|
The beauty and quality of the 100% locally-grown goodness being harvested by your KSQ farmers right now just can't be beet!
Loads of crisp + tender lettuce varieties, greens galore, and spring roots are in their prime, as is the most delicious asparagus.
We're enjoying simple salads every day — mixing lettuces, kale, thinly sliced (or grilled!) radishes and asparagus. Add a healthy protein, a slice of sourdough with a spread of goat cheese and a drizzle of local honey, and you have an easy meal just springing with flavor.
As we patiently wait for the abundance of berries and fruits of late spring to ripen, come taste what’s fresh this week — support your local farmers, and eat with the seasons!
A few other updates:
- Got pots? Farmer Rachel from Brewer's Hideaway welcomes your leftover 1-gallon plastic pots to plant tomatoes for local nonprofit Oxford SILO. 🪴 Quart size also works!
- Love the market and have some time to share? We're looking for volunteer Market Greeters + Breakdown Crew! Sign up here or stop by the Market Info tent to learn more.
- Reminder: Rex Farms Orchard / Big Hill Ciderworks returns as soon as his strawberries ripen! King’s is back in late June for sweet corn season.
We can't wait to see you this Friday from 3-6 at 600 S Broad St. As always, there's plenty of free parking on site!

Will from Amazing Acres always brings a variety goat cheeses made with milk from their happy herd in northern Chester County.
This week: “We will have fresh and creamy Fromagina, a wide assortment of chèvre rounds, as well as our bloomy-rind options.
If you're looking for a little more complexity in your goat cheese this week, give our Crottin a try! It is a young bloomy rind goat cheese inspired by the famous Loire Valley style. This compact cylindrical cheese is subtle and tangy with a long, nutty finish and doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves. Add Crottin to a frittata with spring asparagus, and pair with a dry, crisp Pinot Grigio.”

Rain or Shine!
We're committed to being a rain or shine market! If there are any changes due to extreme conditions, we will provide updates via email and social media. Check Facebook & Instagram if you're uncertain on market day.
Shopping Hours
We open "our doors" at 3 PM, and we need every minute until then for all vendors to be fully ready. If you arrive before 3 PM, please wait by the entry signage, and listen for the bell to ring to welcome you in. We truly appreciate your cooperation!
During the main season (May–Oct), market closes at 6 PM.
Location & Parking
Find us in the south end of the parking lot at 600 S. Broad St, Kennett Square, PA.
Plenty of FREE PARKING is available on site!
ACCESSIBILITY: There are a few parking spots near the first entry reserved for those with limited mobility. If you need any assistance to shop, please let us know how we can help.
Market Shopping Tips
- Preorders continue to be helpful for both producers & customers, so take advantage of that option as available to secure exactly what you need for the week.
- BRING CA$H as not all vendors accept cards or have a minimum for card use. (Cash is always appreciated, as the fees for card use add up for small businesses!)
- PA-based produce farms accept Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC) + Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks from June–November.
- BYO reusable bags to help reduce plastic waste.
- BYO cooler or insulated bag to help keep things fresh and safe on warm days as you travel.
- Feel free to use the red market wagons + NEW! black shopping baskets to help carry your load as you shop — just return to the Kennett Collaborative tent when done.
- Stop by the Kennett Collaborative info tent or ask one of the vendors to point out Ros, the Market Manager, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
Market Manners for Dogs
- Well-behaved pups kept on a short, non-retractable leash are welcome at market!
- Please be sure your dog is comfortable walking calmly past people and other pups of all sizes without lunging, barking, or growling. If you are unsure, please be kind to your dog and others by not bringing them to market.
- If your dog becomes stressed or uncomfortable, please quickly step out of the market area.
- Mind your dog's manners while shopping.
- We appreciate your consideration to keep all safe and happy!
