November 11 | Remembrance Day |
|
|
|
Canadians pause in silence on November 11 to remember those who died from war and to pray for the victims of aggression and inhumanity throughout the world. This is a day to pray for peace, to consider what we are doing as individuals, as a community, and as a nation to bring God's peace into the world.
Let us pray:
- For those who gave their lives for our country, that the Lord grant them eternal rest; For veterans and their families, may they continue to serve our country in civilian life and be welcomed and supported in our communities, let us pray to the Lord.
- For an end to the violence perpetrated by harsh words, deadly weapons, or cold indifference. May our homes, our nation, and countries around the world become havens of peace, let us pray to the Lord.

The 2024 Lectio Divina Compendium is taking part in the Pastoral Renewal in the Diocese of Calgary.
There is no renewal without prayer. Lectio Divina is a very powerful method of prayer and formation for spiritual growth and intimacy with the Word of God. The Church recommends we do it daily, with the readings from the liturgy.
The Seeds of the Word Community has just received their first 200 copies of the compendium - fresh off the press! Father Willbert already has his own; all that's missing is yours! Perfect for your Renewal project, or as Christmas gifts to encourage the spiritual renewal of those around you.
Unsure about Lectio Divina and what it entails? Speak to your parish priest, or contact The Seeds of the Words Community to arrange a workshop in your parish!

PASTORAL RENEWAL |
+ |
|
|
|
You are called. You matter. You belong.
These simple yet profound words capture the essence of our Pastoral Renewal. Jesus personally calls each one of us to follow Him and to remain by His side, for He deeply loves us.
And it is not merely a call; it is a profound affirmation that we truly matter. Every aspect of our lives - our dreams, our struggles, our joys - carries immense significance, for we are integral parts of God’s divine plan. Each one of us, in our uniqueness, contributes to the beauty and unfolding of God’s gift of salvation in the world.
In this pilgrim journey of faith, let us be reminded that we belong to the Body of Christ, a community of disciples united in the one mission, and bound together by the love of our Lord.
We invite you to join our diocesan Church and begin a journey of renewal together!

POPE'S PRAYER INTENTION |
+ |
|
Each year, the Holy Father asks for our prayers for a specific intention each month. You are invited to answer the Holy Father's request and to join with many people worldwide in praying for this intention each month. From time to time, the Holy Father may add a second prayer intention related to current events or urgent needs, like disaster relief. The second prayer request will help mobilize prayer and action related to the urgent situation.
