Help BWC Help You
Since its inception, BWC has been powered by the energy and ideas of member-volunteers. Volunteers have helped run meetings, events, workshops, the newsletter, website content, publicity and advertising, social media, and on and on. Active members gain greater visibility in the community and increase their potential for referrals, interviews, and other opportunities.
Periodically, BWC posts about opportunities to help with special projects in the network and on the Volunteers page of the website. Whether you've only recently joined or you’ve been a member for many years, there are many ways to help!
• Join the Opps Initiative to help ensure our members are aware of calls for submissions, legitimate contests, awards, publication opportunities, and job leads. Forward leads to hi@blackwriters.org.
• Volunteer with BWC's social media team.
• Host The Dash live writing sprints one day per week.
• Serve as a community manager in the network.
If you are interested in discussing whether you’d be a good fit for this or any role, contact support@blackwriters.org.
