St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
Sunday Worship Service

Dear St. Andrew's Community and Friends:

The News of the President's Condition
In order to have enough time for editing and revisions, we put these services together during the week.  As a result, there are
occasionally important world events occurring we would usually reference in the service or prayers on Sunday morning that are not included.  Such is the case with the news of President Trump's positive COVID diagnosis.  I certainly join my voice with many others in hoping those who are infected will recover, and
also hope that this will be a sober reminder to respect and follow the directives we have had from the medical community since the pandemic began.

This Week's Service
As far as the service itself, this is the week I address the topic of the "other place" -- hell -- for the first time in all my years of ministry.  See what you think!  Suzanne Malloy is the
reader and we join together in celebrating communion.  (You are encouraged to prepare your own bread and cup at home so you can join us). Chris and Erin lead us in two praise songs -- "I Will Call Upon the Lord" and "In My LIfe," and the classic "A Mighty Fortress."

This Sunday is "Peace and Global Witness Offering" Sunday in the Presbyterian church. You may mail in donations or use the donation option on our website to support these efforts focused on peace and justice around the world.

Finally, following is a greeting from Rev. Jennifer Fraser, the pastor-elect.

A Greeting From Rev. Jennifer Fraser...

Dear Friends,

I am still riding the wave of gratitude that started on September 20th with the vote and the final confirmation of our future ministry together.  This past week I informed the congregation here of my departure and we have started our process of saying goodbye.  They have been so gracious and generous in their congratulations to me and are sending me off with warm wishes and prayer.  The next few weeks will keep me busy with a lot of administrative loose ends to tie up. But I have already secured an apartment, packed up some boxes, and bought a bicycle (I am so excited to ride around SB!).

Counting the days!
