Disc Golf Wānaka
have opened a free nine-hole community course in Albert Town. The Confluence was funded and built by members and has taken two years of hard work to create a challenging course on the banks of the Cardrona and Mata-Au (Clutha) rivers.
DGW is a small but active club with the vision to enable people of all ages and abilities to play disc golf for social, physical and mental benefits on a range of free-to-use courses. They host three New Zealand Disc Gold Tour events each year as well as weekly social rounds, and manage two additional courses at Eely Point and Lismore Park.
Parking for the new course is off Kinnibeg Street, following signs for the Upper Clutha River Track. Walk upstream to the Pawson’s Crossing footbridge named, cross the bridge and walk back downstream along the trail to tee 1 (located on the left hand side of the trail).
