The punny costumes above, made me smile. When my kids were younger, they went to school with another family whose Mom was a former fashion designer. So, her kids’ costumes were always amazingly elaborate (think: Flaming Pegasus). My own kids’ costumes started with an XL sweatshirt with the arms chopped off. That template was turned into a bumble bee, an apple tree, a pile of leaves, and other high-imagination-low-skill costumes.
Halloween can be a complicated time for kids, from a friendship perspective. Group costumes and who is trick-or-treating with whom can be hard to navigate. Below are articles on the pros & cons of kids having a best friend, and why kids are so mean. There is also a video about social stop signs. This month’s featured book is The Unwritten Rules of Friendship. It describes the friendship strengths and struggles of 9 typical kids, including: The Shy Child, The Little Adult, The Born Leader, and the Different Drummer.
