The mission of the InkConnection newsletter is to show that good ink management is vital to stay competitive in labelling and packaging. And how true that’s proven to be in 2022!
For most in the industry, this has been a tough year: meeting quality demands and short lead times has been difficult, in the face of raw materials shortages and rising operating costs. Never mind the ink prices – even the right ingredients have been hard to come by.
Hopefully, the advice we’ve brought you this year gives you the knowledge to restructure your ink processes – helping you become more efficient and responsive. We showed how ink dispensing and proofing dramatically cuts ink consumption, material loss and make-ready time, by getting quality without wasteful remakes. And how modular dispensing systems, with exchangeable controls, allow smooth transitions when handling new ink sets or larger volumes.
Additionally, we’ve discussed new software advances that are automating processes from tracing ink ingredients, to creating new colours – improving decision-making, lead times and quality assurance.
At a strategic level, we also invited experts in ‘Lean’ manufacturing to explain how printers can use this technique to focus on value creation: it makes you competitive, sustainable and, ultimately, a trusted partner.
You’re best placed to make that happen when your ink processes are optimized so quality is first time right, predictable and repeatable. We look forward to bringing more insight for achieving that in 2023.
