Here's a lovely story from Poe Paddy State Park's Book of Faces:
Over the weekend, a memorial was held at Poe Paddy in honor of the late Ann Snyder. The Snyders, members of the original Poe Paddy Irregulars, began camping at Poe Paddy in 1952, before Poe Paddy was even a state park. They continued every year, bringing their growing family back, and creating lifelong friendships with fellow campers as the years went on.
After John passed in the early 2000s, Ann continued camping every year, even setting up her own tent last year at the age of 84! Ann sadly passed last fall, breaking the hearts of anyone who ever had the chance to share a story with her or receive even a brief moment of her unwavering, kind hospitality.
In honor of both their legacies, park staff exchanged the John Snyder Trail sign out to replace it with the John and Ann Snyder Trail. Thank you to all who came out to share your kind words and memories of Ann and her family, the original Poe Paddy Irregulars.
